The Los Angeles News Group is seeking a talented designer to handle A1 and sports covers. The ideal candidate can create sophisticated visual journalism and has the ability to design off a concept and build something from nothing.

The successful candidate possess excellent news judgment and is a strong copy editor and headline writer with command of the english language and AP style. Solid communication skills are a must as the designer/editor will work collaboratively with editors and reporters on a daily basis to produce dynamic pages.

Candidates should have 3-5 years experience at a daily newspaper and be proficient with InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator is a plus.

Send cover letter, resume and five samples from your portfolio to Brian Harr, managing editor/content center, Los Angeles News Group at brian.harr@langnews.com. No telephone calls please.

The Los Angeles News Group includes the Los Angeles Daily News, Long Beach Press-Telegram, Pasadena Star-News and six other dailies in the Los Angeles area.
