"A Wrinkle in Time" was one of my favourite books when I was younger. Thank you Madeleine L'Engle for many summer afternoons spent in my favourite chair in the shade with a big glass of Kool-Aid devouring your books. Thank you for stretching my imagination and vocabulary. And thank you for creating a world so real I could escape to it whenever I needed shelter.

Read it when I was in my mid 20's. Loved every sentence.

It's the first of a trilogy but it's by far the best known of her works.

There wound up being more than three books involving that family. I was never sure if they were part of the series or another series that happened to involve the same characters.

The only reason I say "a trilogy" because the publisher, Farrar, Straus & Giroux, did a boxed set of the three hardcovers. I didn't realise there were others.

Yea, there were two or three others with just the family from Wrinkle. Then she had another series of books with a different family (can't remember the name). Then the oldest girl from Wrinkle married one of the boys from the other series and their kids started having adventures.

That I remember all that from about 20 years ago speaks volumes about how much I loved this woman's books.

I was probably too young when I read it, but I remember thinking how bizarre that book was.
