A really lousy deal all the way around.

Organ or organs found for transplant at University of Michigan Hospital. Team flies to Milwaukee to pick it up. After picking up organ or organs, plane crashes into Lake Michigan with organs and doctors aboard. Six missing.

If your thread title is intended as an entry in the "asshole of the year" contest, congratulations -- you're the early leader.

    Agreed. Change it please.

So you think the person waiting for the transplant is feeling lucky?

It sucks all the way around.

Yeah, it does. Probably the reason it doesn't deserve a flip thread title.

Duly noted. It's been changed, in case you weren't looking.

I looked. Thanks. I realize you didn't mean anything but it did read real wrong. This one is spot on. Thanks again.

No problem. It was pretty shittily (is that a word?) worded the first time around. My apologies to the board.

  9. Just got the news on the phone. I wrote a story about one of the doctors last year. He doubled as a high school cross country/track coach. He had successful programs in both. He often would leave practice or meets early if he got a call to be part of an organ transplant.

Sad story. I'm sure all were good people, but that one was about as good a person as there could be.

OK, your "AHOTY" candidacy has slipped back into the pack. Good move on the title amendment.

Truly a tragic story -- the transplant air teams perform a really vital service that saves a lot of lives.

  11. Wow. This impacts so many lives.
