That was horrifying. I thought maybe it was just hte smirk at the beginning, but the actual laughter and him apologizing and having to point out it was a sad story?

Demoted, if not fired.

So who thinks there was some idiot off camera doing something stupid to make him laugh? And there was a woman (co-anchor?) laughing as well.

That has to be the case. He was fine in the beginning, then just lost control. There's no way he goes to work the next day without at least a public apology -- if he even gets back on the air.

Jeez, this guy's got waaay too many years in the business to be doing that.

Shit happens - anchors get the giggles and stuff happens off camera, regardless of what the story is - but if you're reading about a deadly accident and you're in the video, just shut the fuck up until you get over it. Video with silence is better than video with a giggling anchor.

What really gets me is, that's not Nebraska. That's Roanoke, Virginia. I don't even know why they would be running a freakin' Nebraska car wreck in Virginia.

What in all hell is wrong with WSLS? In the last two, three years they've had two weathercasters admit to heroin addiction, one got fired and the other recovered only to be fired for showing off his twig and berries on a myspace site. They also had a former newscaster get fired at his next station for getting into a fistfight at the site of a report he was doing. And now this. Mercy.
