My god, Steel Reserve. You voluntarily drank that???

Lake Erie Monster is awesome. I second mjp. Did you lose a bet on the Steel Reserve? Oy.

Been big on Breckenridge 471 Double IPA of late. Really hoppy and crisp. 9.2 ABV, so beware.

Steel Reserve, now there's a utility beer.

Nope, it was a 1.38 for a pint, 9 oz can and I never have had it before.

    Never will again I reckon.

Finally cracked open the bottle of Founders KBS (Kentucky Breakfast Stout) I bought a few months ago. Was waiting for the right time to have it, where I could share its goodness with a fellow beer snob. Man, that stuff is good. Wish I could get my hands on the Canadian Breakfast Stout.

Been walking on the sour side a lot lately. Had the good fortune to pick up some of the Goose Island Three Sisters (Lolita, Juliet and Madame Rose) when I was in eastern New York in January and got to open a Juliet and Madame Rose a couple weeks back at a tasting. Both are superb.

Dig the Russian River -tion series as well, with Consecration being my current fave.

Always on the lookout for any Cantillon or Drei Fontainen (picked up two bottles of 3F Oude Geuze in upstate NY this past weekend) as well- they're becoming very scarce as Shelton Brothers (the wholesaler/importer) have stopped much of their distribution. The 2002 Cantillon Lou Pepe Framboise is mouth-puckeringly great.

This seems as good a place to ask as any.

I had a beer called Voll Damm when I was in Barcelona earlier this year. It's a really strong lager with a high alcohol content. Tasty as anything.

I'd give my left tit to get my hands on some in the U.S.

Has anyone ever seen it here?

Nope, but if you ever have questions on beer and where to find it...check beeradvocate.com (you need to sign up, but it's free)

Looks as if it's a Spain-only brew. All the reviews on BA (a site run, IMO, by douchebags of the highest order, mind you) have it being consumed while there. It's a 7.2% marzen (oktoberfest) style and gets middling (C+) reviews from the beer nerds.

It's a shame. It is the same brewer as Estrella Damm, which I have seen here. The Estrella Damm was what most people drank. We ordered a Voll Damm randomly our first day there and drank it straight through the trip. I really liked it.
