A high-character guy calls it quits

I hesitate to post anything Penn State football-related on here anymore. But this kid deserves some sort of mention.

His name is Adam Breneman. Along with fellow highly rated recruit Christian Hackenberg, they stayed true to their commitments at the worst point in the football program's history. In my mind, both are high-character young men.

Hackenberg will be trying to continue his career in the NFL, but Breneman won't have that chance. He left football today after trying for two years to recover from a knee injury. Oh ... and he's graduating after three years.

Penn State's Adam Breneman is giving up football; tight end's career cut short due to injuries

Here's his open letter to the Penn State community.

Adam Breneman's open letter to Penn State

I believe he's going to be successful in whatever route his life takes him.

You have to live with your original thread titles, like I did with the millennials one. Talk about a stand-up guy.

Just like you have to live with your lack of human compassion? Guess that's a lawyer's loophole.
