A helpful hint to people selling stuff on Craigslist

PLEASE check the marketplace before you put up prices.

I'm looking at UK-Long Beach State tickets for the 23rd as a surprise present for my dad, who bleeds blue. It will likely be his only shot to see John Wall in person. I look on Ticketmaster, and I can get seats in the upper deck for $28 each.

I get on craigslist, and people are selling WORSE upper-deck seats for $60 a pop. Now why in the WORLD would you think anyone would pay that when tickets are still readily available?

    Think, people...think.

    If you don't ask $60, you won't get $60.

I thought this had to do with naughty texting.

BUT YOU'RE NOT GOING TO GET IT ANYWAY IF TICKETS ARE STILL AVAILABLE AT HALF THAT!

That's my point. You've gotta know the market.

For every stupid seller there could easily be a stupid buyer. Just saying.

All it takes is one idiot to send in his money.

Very true. I know a lot of stupid buyers. And I know a few people who set the prices high on items just in case. Mostly, they're items that the people plan on keeping/using, but will sell if someone's dumb enough to pay more than they should.

Right, sucker in people who assume that craigslist HAS to have better prices than Ticketmaster, so they'll go there first and not bother comparison shopping.

When it comes to the smarts of the average American, always bet the under.

I did find one guy who's selling his seats for face value, and he won't have the convenience charges. Once I pay him extra to ship them to me, then it will be about a wash. They're a little higher up, but they're along the sideline instead of in the corner. He's waiting to hear back from one other guy.

Offer $5 more. The other guy will be pwned.

If they are etickets, he can email them to you.
