A Freakin' Addicting Game on Facebook

    A month or so ago, I got an invite to join Facebook from a TV reporter friend of mine who was an usher in my wedding. During his travels, I've always had a hard time tracking him down. This was probably the one reason I joined: so he and I could keep in touch.

    Not knowing my interest in the Prohibition mob wars; in my college criminal justice class, I wrote a paper on the socioeconmic impact of Prohibition and the mob wars on Chicago, a co-worker of mine, who was already a member, sent me an invite to join his mob in "Mob Wars."

    And now, I'm hooked.

    The premise is simple: recruit people to join your mob, arm them with weapons and perform "jobs" to earn money to buy more weapons and property, which bring you income. Meanwhile, you're fending off attacks from rival mobs that can do everything from take health points to send you to the hospital to kill you.

    Addicting, I'm tellin' ya. :-[

    Yup, it's fun, but once you become an evil dictator, or whatever the top level I got to, it got a little boring.

    Reminds me of Drug Wars on TI-83s...

    Dear God you just brought back infinite memories of my AP Calculus class. My teacher was cool shit, and about 5 of us would sit and just play games on our graphing calculators while the rest of the class became annoyed since they were "trying to learn." But the teacher let us go since all of us were getting As or Bs.

    Ah, the TI-83. Drug Wars was great, but my favorite game was Block Dude.

    I signed up for a Facebook game/application for the first time in a while today.

    Fleet Command.

    Definitely satisfies the navy buff in me. I think I'm about to be addicted.
