The first baby born via in vitro fertilization is now a writer for the Boston Globe. She gave birth to her first child yesterday and wrote about it.

Not to be a pedant, but she was only the first test-tube baby in the U.S. The first in the world was born two years prior, IIRC.

Three years earlier. And Louise Brown has herself been a mother since 2006.

The first child born to a test-tube baby was born in 1999, to Louise Brown's younger sister.

Imagine the schoolyard insults: "Your test tube wears combat boots!"

"Your test tube is so ugly, lab assistants had to wrap meat around the petri dish to get the cosmetics-research dog to play with it."
