    I hope you are doing well.

    If you live close to where she passed away, I think you can request part of the ashes to be spread.

    For my father, we buried part of his ashes, but the other half we spread in the Ohio River at his favorite fishing spot. This is a nice way for you to do something if you like on your own terms.

    The Dude, who abides, just warns you to throw the ashes downwind.

    I just got my grandmother's obituary from The Portland Press-Herald in the mail from my mother.

    Maybe the only time my name has ever been in that paper.
