Just saw this on the AP wire, sorry if it's a D_B

Bet the religion section gets a boost. Surely to God this won't happen.

  2. I hope to hell not. I seriously doubt that right-wing ultra conservative piece of crap will buy the paper.

I'd rather be owned by the Moonies.

The Lord told me to buy this paper, not only to keep it from spreading lies about me, but because readers need to know cheerleading is a sport too and they try very very hard.

I'm sure he has enough donor dollars to flush down the drain with this enterprise.

    Man, that would be fun.

People on much further ledges (and with nearly as much open bias) have bought papers in the past.
I would hope that this doesn't go through, but honestly, money talks much more than any of us.

Good point, MU, but I still think JDV talks more.

That's very depressing this out of touch religious fanatic wants to turn a very good newspaper into a training ground for all the young fanatics that go to his fourth-rate college. I really hope this deal doesn't go through.

Makes me giggle, the reaction here.

Probably why he said it to begin with.

    I'd rather he bought TWC:

"It's going to be a great day ... for the Lord to return!"

    Look at this way...

Is it better to be owned by God than Gannett?
