Seattle to Los Angeles: 1,141 miles
Seattle to San Diego: 1,265 miles.
Portland to Los Angeles: 967 miles

Second that. I've never followed the Jayhawks to a bowl game, but I would make the NYC trip in a heartbeat.

Nothing better than a football game in the snow. Nothing worse than being at a football game in the snow.

Great, now somebody is going to want a bowl at Fenway or Wrigley.

I'd be all over a bowl game at Wrigley.

If it weren't for the actual game - a shitty game between two mediocre teams played in freezing cold conditions or some other shitty weather -- this could work as a trip to NYC for the holidays can be fun.

But....NYC during the holiday season is absurdly expensive and unlike a place like El Paso where the locals really support the bolw game, who the hell in NYC is going to give a shit about this game?

This thing has failure written all over it.

It's not the first time Yankee Stadium has hosted a bowl. The 1962 Gotham Bowl pitted Nebraska and Miami.

    Attendance? 6,166.

I have a feeling a bunch of bowl games are going to go bye-bye in the car-car after this year with the bad economy and all. That'll help with the bowl glut and the bad seeds.

Bowls are a reward for players and other team members, plus fans.
That said, there are way too many bowl games.
Rewards for "achievement" at the collegiate level, just like in youth sports, continues to be dumbed-down.
