Unless it's John Gregory Dunne and Joan Didion, I don't want to know that the co-writers of whatever I'm reading were swapping spit in between grafs.

Hard to tell who's the bigger whore (rhymes with poor), the writer or the Times.

Wonder how buyout sex compares with intern sex, publisher's-wife sex, production-department-colleagues-in-the darkroom sex, PR-account-manager-and-reporter-in-the-men's-room-sex or some of the other more ribald tales I've heard through co-workers.

I guess the NYT got her self-respect in the buyout.

I think you forgot a few: copy editor-and-sportswriter-in-the-janitor's closet sex, reporter-and-reporter-in-the-supply-room sex and copy editor-and-outside lover-in-any-available-place sex. Or at least that's what I've heard! ;)

Newspaper owners love buyout sex too. They get to screw the unemployed journalists and large segments of the readership, all at once.

I always assumed that when hearing that someone in this situation got screwed, it was a euphemism.

    And they don't use KY.
