When and if it ever reaches your town, I encourage you to watch this movie about the immigration debate in Prince William County, Virginia, in 2007-2008. A couple of young filmmakers, Eric Byler and Annabel Park, started making a record of the events as the resentment toward Latin American immigrants boiled over and county supervisors subsequently passed an anti-immigrant resolution that threatened to do more harm than good to the community. They began to post their videos on YouTube, and pretty soon their channel became ground zero for the debate. Eventually, they made it into a long-form documentary which has garnered some praise and some awards.
