    Hi everyone:

Later this summer (July/August), The Dallas Morning News will hold training sessions for those interested in covering high school football games for us on a freelance basis in the fall.

Last year we launched our high school football real-time scoring project. Freelancers were provided laptops and internet air cards, which allowed us to deliver real-time stats and play-by-play on our website and mobile app.

The project was a great success, and we're building a bigger and better system for the fall. But we need some help.

If you live in the Dallas/Fort Worth area and are interested, please e-mail me -- kwhitfield@dallasnews.com -- a resume and 2-3 writing samples.

Those who apply, receive an invite to our training (will be paid for attending) and pass the session(s) will be included in our freelance lineup. We cover nearly 90 games per week, so there's plenty of work to go around.

Please let me know if you have any questions. Thanks so much for your help.
