The wife and I had our wedding reception on 7-7-07.

We booked the caterer six months in advance.

    On purpose?

A ton of people did that, though. I remember hearing about Tony Parker maybe getting married to Eva what's her name on 7-7-07.

I was married three days later. I'm a rebel like that. :)

    She knew who she wanted.

Three days after I proposed, she had the caterer, wedding location, honeymoon spot, villa, who was performing the wedding and a few other things all planned out.

I know they do, but we didn't do a story on the kid who turned 1 on 1/1/01 or whatever, or the kid who was 8 on 8/8/08.

It just seems dumb to me that we picked this day to write a story like that when there have been plenty of other years to do it. Or, ya know, we could have just not written the thing.

    Better than all of that...

My dad -- who two weeks ago, called me to tell me he was headed down to his GYM at his seniors apartment complex -- turned 95 today. Ninety Freakin'-Born-16-Days-After-World-War-ONE-Started Five.

Where's his story? He tries just as hard as all the other nonagenarians -- not many of whom walk a mile-plus every day and still can bring the babes...

Sega Dreamcast came out. A year before PlayStation 2's release, it didn't play DVDs. People yawned, Sega's days as a hardware manufacturer ended within a couple of years.
