What a collection of world-class asshats.

I know that Pearlman can be pretty thin-skinned about criticism, but this is actually a pretty good read in reaction to Eddie Payton's comments lately.

I find it interesting that Payton is up in arms because he was told by Pearlman - which Pearlman denies - that he was writing an article, not a book.

I'm not quite sure I see why: (1) Someone would lie about that; (2) Why it would matter to the interviewee one way or the other.

No doubt that Pearlman's work is polarizing. One thing that you rarely here is that his work was not accurate.

    Has Pearlman met DeAngelo Hall?

Probably not. Jeff tends to prefer writing about winners.

(His book on the Cowboys was pretty enjoyable)

I hate to say it, but when I hear "biography," I think book. If I hear "feature on the life of..." then I think magazine article.

This seems to be a pissing match about nothing, but then he types what he types, which I bolded.

He could get his ass kicked for that, and most people would understand why.

He's not being snide, he's just saying the guy's an idiot.

Imagine the publishers attorney's trying to determine the accuracy of the Charles Haley story.

I can't believe that this story still has legs since Perlman came out with the book at this time last year, IIRC?

People are fascinated to read about the personal account of other people, until it's about them or someone close to them.

I have no real beef with Eddie Payton. If he really wants to beat me up, well, he knows how to reach me.

One thing I will say is this: Eddie was the common link throughout my reporting, in that nobody seemed to especially like him.

    Typical Pearlman right there.

Kinda thought he was being snide AND saying the guy is an idiot.
