Ok, I looked up his deal, and USA Today has him with an optout after next season.

Upon further inspection ... this isn't just dumb, it's suicidal.

Where will Dunleavy play, the 2?

Utah fan ... what, Ronnie Brewer isn't working out at the 2?

The Warriors certainly can hand you Pietrus .. he's have a good season (of ball-hogging and bad shot selection)

hell, the Jazz could probably give up AK-47 (does he really hate it there?) and get Richardson or something from Golden State ...

a lot of teams would take granger and foster. solid players.
the pacers' biggest problem is that o'neal is not a franchise player.

    SI.com was/is calling this a "blockbuster" trade.

Assuming it does not involve Wayne Huizenga agreeing to give free DVD rentals for Larry Bird, I think that label is somewhat ridiculous.

I think anytime a deal involves nearly a third of your roster changing hands, it certainly blows up your look.

8 players qualifies as a blockbuster

it's practically a roster overhaul for the Pacers. they lost 2 starters.

Jeff Foster is a good building piece? Where? At the 4? He's a David Lee-type rebounder with zero offensive game. But are yuo going to play him over a $50 million man in Murphy?

THe Pacers, at time, could have an all-white frontline:

    Dunleavy
    Murphy
    Foster

A trade with three white guys that didn't involve the Celtics? Huh?

Edit: And Indiana sure does love to get rid of Harrington.

According to yahoo sports they are swingers between the 4 and 5.

About a half-dozen teams matter in the NBA. These aren't two of them.

Diogu is listed at 6' 8", and that seems generous. Hard to see him as an even moderately effective 5.

This trade is not going to make a lick of a differnce.
