Marc Stein is reporting that the Pacers and Warriors have made a trade involving 8 players. Al Harrington, Stephen Jackson, and two others to Golden State for Troy Murphy, Ike Diogu, Mike Dunleavy and another player.

Sounds like someone's trading Camaro parts for Trans Am parts

The Contra Costa Times is reporting the same thing:

Pacers get Murphy, Dunleavy, Diogu and Keith McLeod and the Warriors get Jackson, Harrington, Jasikevicius and Josh Powell.

    Paging Chuck~T...aw, never mind.

Seems like an okay deal for the Warriors. Why would Indiana want Murphy and Diogu? Aren't they both (maybe I'm misinformed) fours?

Good God, why don't they just trade cities?

Must be an image thing, because otherwise, the Pacers are just dumb

Troy Murphy has been garbage (and hurt) for the past year and has one of hte worst contracts in the league ... Dunleavy is blah, Diogu hasn't produced (yet - do like him) and the other guy is at throw-in ...

Meanwhile, Harrington is a proven low-post scorer. Team him with the foreign guy at center and the Warriors might have something. Jackson is a chucker who won't see time when Richardson comes back ... hell, he wont see time because Ellis and B Davis and Pietrus are all better than him.

I see this as the Warriors giving up junk .. for an All-star caliber player in Harrington.

    When Richardson's hand heals:
B Davis, Ellis, Richardson Pietrus at the 1-3
Harrington and foreign guy at 4-5

These guys could make the playoffs as the 8th seed

Wonder if Stephen Jackson will find a new strip club to frequent and shoot-up in the Bay Area.

I think this is partly an image thing, but the Pacers are fools for giving up Harrington to move Jackson. Since Nelson is trying to implement the up-tempo Nellie-ball style, this will help a lot. While Jackson as a bit of a jacker, he is a good athlete who can run the floor well on the break, as can Harrington.

The players the Warriors are giving up don't fit that style, so it's a great move on their part. You have to wonder how bad that lockeroom atmosphere was in Indiana to go through with this.
