    "Sign O' The Times" was by far his best album. Better than "1999" and "Purple Rain," even, and "Purple Rain" was awesome in its own right.

    I heard "Young Turks" the other day when I was in line at my local Tim Hortons. It sounds dated with the synths and electronic drums, but it's still a pretty good record.

    And hey, if I had to sing karaoke of Rod's late 70s - early 80s dreck, I'd at least go for the raunchy stuff like "Dirty Weekend", "Blondes Have More Fun" and "Tora, Tora, Tora".

    I saw him wheezing his way through "They Can't Take That Away From me" from one of his American Songbook albums on some ancient Letterman rerun last night. Somewhere Maggie May weeps.
