Strange sports tidbit presented on a Canadian all-sport network today.

What do the numbers 7 and 2 represent or have in common in the sports world?

7-2 was the score of the game in which Joe DiMaggio tied the then-record 44-game hit streak.

7,2 off-suit is the worst possible hand in Texas Hold 'Em Poker.

7'2" was the height of the player Vince Carter dunked over at the Olympics in Australia.

This all according to the The Score. I double checked the Joe D thing, seems right.

Man, I'm bored on this long weekend up here.

Wasn't 7-2 the score in the first game of the Canada-Russia '72 Summit Series?

Oh yeah, and Caroline Frolic is about the only thing worth watching on the Score.

Good lord, I thought it said 7.2 and immediately wondered who had the big quake.

7/2/936 Henry I of Saxony died. Coindence? I think not.

7/2/1881 is the day Charles Guiteau shot President Garfield. On 7/2/1976, North and South Vietnam reunite to become one nation. Coincidence? I think not.
