Chalk one up for homeland security.

But why attack and army base? That's not so smart.

Fort Dix? They couldn't do better than Fort Dix?
I understand they were also plotting to do major damage at the Army-Navy football game.

I think it's obvious what we have to do next: Invade New Jersey and topple the local government. If we don't fight them in Newark, they'll follow us home.

Seriously, though, how stupid were these guys?

Our fathers came across the prairie. Fought, Indians, fought drought, fought locusts, fought Dix. Remember when Richard Dix came in here and tried to take over this town?

Why Fort Dix? Its the largest training base for army reservists, if its web page is to be believed. Make those recruits not want to join up and fight.
Why an army base? If you're willing to attack an army base, you're willing to attack anywhere. If you're successful attacking an army base, then it advances the notion that no one in this country can feel safe.

As for the intelligence of the conspirators, well, is that really any less intelligent than telling a flight trainer that you don't need to know how to land?
