Doesn't make the dialogue or the writing any better. It's the Honda Civic of literature and no amount of middle aged women getting an order of steamed clams in a movie theater changes that.

    Why disparage the Honda Civic?

A popular movie comprising bad dialogue and writing?

I've seen worse movies than the first 50 Shades.

The trailers for this one made it seem like some updated version of Fatal Attraction.

I haven't read the books. I went through that Girl with the Dragon Tattoo trilogy and I wasn't going to then read a series that pretended all the shit in tattoo series was exciting.

All I know is if your GF wants you to take her to a movie that's going to get her all worked up and you're worried about the quality of the acting and dialogue, it might be time to re-evaluate that relationship.

Still one of the all-time great threads here. Thanks for the bump.

I know right? The nerve of me critiquing writing and dialogue on a journalism website.

I think we are skipping past the real news here. BYM got himself a girlfriend?

    Does she love/hate Pitt, too?

Didn't read or watch the first. No plans to change that pattern.

In my early to mid 20s, I read 'Bridges of Madison County' and 'First Wives Club' because I was asked to read them.

I have never and will never make such a concession again to any romantic interest.
