The cop got taken down but was not brutally beat. The suspect's booking photo shows he was brutally beat.

    That headline is trash.

She got hurt in a scuffle. She put her body on the line in a situation where there were 2-3 other cops on scene and an unarmed suspect. She took the brunt of it and no one ended up bleeding out on a Chicago street. This seems like a not particularly bad outcome considering the alternative.

Yeah. Probably the best possible outcome. Hard to think of a better one.

If I were at Politico I'd write it like this: "Video released Friday undercuts the claims of the Chicago policewoman who bragged that she pummeled a suburban father of two during a traffic stop last week."

Maybe it was consensual for all involved and they wanted to be beaten

The best case scenario involves two cops subduing a suspect they almost had in cuffs. But things were beyond that. (or some crime-less fantasy world)

    That's the only alternative?

You forgot "routine" in front of "traffic stop."

My problem with that video is that there were several officers who arrived and did practically nothing to help. Go back and watch it again.
