I thought it was a pretty interesting story, personally.

I've always wanted to do one of these things, but I'm sure I would get heat stroke and die.

No way I would go through that, and I'm 10 years younger than him.

I remember when a now-retired Detroit News writer did that 20 years ago with the made up name of "Louie Rigatoni."
They worked the guy so hard, his hair dye was running out from under his helmet....

To paraphrase Huey Lewis, sometimes cool is cool, and sometimes Spad is Spad....

John's a great reporter and a good guy too. Doesn't suprise me.

I thought about trying this when I was covering Fayetteville State and John was covering WSSU, but I was afraid I'd make the team.

CI did this (sans Murphy) a few years ago with a high school team.

I think these are some of the most interesting stories. Having never had a chance to play football with a knee injury before I started high school, this is the type of stuff that gets the reader inside camp.

I'd like to see Poindexter do a story about being a playa with the high school kids.

I'm sure I'm in the minority, but I hate when writers do this shit...

We're not the story. Someday people will wrap their brains around that.
