    If printed guns become a big threat, everyone will have to print bullets. Personally I don't think it is a threat. The printers may only be $1000, but the toner cartridges are where you'll get screwed.

    I read yesterday the printers run about $3,200 right now. If they were only $1,000, I think they'd already be starting to become common.

    Staples is going to start having them in-store in Europe in a few test cities before rolling out in the U.S., probably next year, according to Mashable.

    Oh, and when I saw the post about 3D printing guns, all I could think was, it can't form complex machines. Guns and explosives have chemicals, moving parts. It doesn't work that way. But it can form solid metal shapes -- knives, stabbing weapons.

    CSI just had an episode where the bad guy made 3D copies of a gun. It was hard for me to believe it would be fully functioning.
