    Fredo's tired of commander-in-chiefin', I guess.
There are several layers of loathsome to this, but the deepest and most odious is the fact that it's an indication that, just as he has done in the case of all the multifarious failures of his adult life, he's trying to find a way to leave the biggest, bloodiest bungle of his failed presidency to someone else. Hey, we have a 'war czar," foof. It's you. It's plain that you can't do this job, but can't yopu at least keep trying.
    18 more months.
    Jesus wept.

I hate to be cynical and a pessimist, but the only thing people against the war can hope for is that things aren't completely and totally screwed up by the time Bush leaves -- as opposed to just completely screwed up. I don't have any hope that things will improve.

Maybe Fredo finally learned that someone was supposed to be in charge and just wasn't told it was supposed to be him.

If you're already unhappy with how the war is going, do not, I repeat, do not read the article in this week's Time Magazine about how the army is doing.

Damn it FH, now you really put me in a bad mood after reading that.

    And the White House's response:

W just wants those troops as prepared for desert warfare as he was for the presidency.

When was the last "successful" czar? the drug czar? intelligence czar? Nicholas II? Things never end well if you are a czar.
