    So.......tomorrow makes birthday #33.

Wife wants to know what I want for my birthday.

    Should I

    A. Take the kid to mom and dad's and have a nice "birthday dinner"
    B. Take wife, kid, mom and dad out to dinner, with mom and dad getting the tab.
    C. Tell the wife me and the guys are going to the bar, and I'll see you sometime Friday.
    D. Other.

A is in the lead right now, and I know damn well if I choose C, there may not be a birthday #34 for Ye Old Chef.

    I dunno ... C is pretty tempting.

I say B. I always try to spend some time with my mother on my birthday. Think about it. She's the one who really had a rough time that day. I usually wish her a Happy Giving Birth Day.

And dad should definitely pay if you go that route.

Not quite the same, but could be fun.

How old is the kid? If he/she is old enough to want to celebrate your bday, do the family thing. If not, go have fun with your wife.

I'm not sure the Steak and Shake folks will take too kindly to someone getting a hummer right there at the table.

Oh, and for your choice: replace bar with strip club and go option C.

A is the best choice, Chef. Happy Birthday.

Does the day you were born count as a birthday? Seems like it should.
