    RIP

I did not live in Texas while she was governor (or after for that matter) but she always struck me as a very un "politician" politician.

Plus, she was on a King of the Hill episode.

That's terrible, and that kind of cancer is among the worst ways to go.

I wasn't a member of her political party, but from seeing her speak, I somehow liked her, even though I disagreed with her on most issues. She was bright, witty and funny. The grumps and sourpusses of her party such as Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid and Diane Feinstein could have taken a few lessons in grace and class from her.

A lot of us in Texas really liked her. I remember a feature story that had a pic of her on a motorcycle. Neat lady. RIP.

Cotton Bowl New Year's Eve Ball. I'm dancing with my date when Ma Richards waltzes by with her hubby. Cool lady.

Memorable line aboutPoppy Bush at the '88 Dem convention: "He was born with a silver foot in his mouth."
Ann was the kind of tough-minded Democrat you seldom see anymore, particularly in Texas - we'll miss her.

Sadly, that's the first thing I thought of. She had a great sense of humor.

    RIP.

Pretty sure she also said GWB was born on third base and thinks he hit a triple.

    RIP.
