Ilook forward to reading Pat Reusse every Thanksgiving...
While Mariotti made the list, he's not the TOY... that honor is:

What business Lucia had being the runner-up, I'll never know.

And, hey, Pat, quick question: How many times did Clem Haskins win this award BEFORE you found out from another paper's reporting that he'd been running a cheating factory.

    Oh, that's what I thought.

You're still better than Sid, though.

I'm curious: He mentions Kerri Strug in 1996 as being the only other female Grand Turkey. What on earth would have possessed him to give Strug that "honor" the same year she won the Olympic gold medal for her team with a courageous performance? Anybody in the Twin Cities remember why?

Geez, did she stand him up in the bar at the last Championships or something?

You would probably have to remember her bratty behavior after the Olympics to understand why she might be named a "turkey."

Yeah, I guess it's probably stuff I would slap myself for not remembering, but quite frankly almost everything about that Olympics and its aftermath were wiped away from my memory not too long after.

IIRC (and it's been a while), she wanted more money than the rest of the girls for the post-Olympic tour, among other things. I also think that she's disliked by most of her former teammates.

Not to be a youknowwho for digging up the old thread (LOL), but to save time...
Reusse's 30th turkey of the year... ( I forgot he did fatboy Charlie last year...)
