I thought about this for a little bit and here were some of my thoughts.
1. If the Chinese had Audrey in China, the remainder of the show would be Jack on a plane. Thus, she must be in LA. All good terrorists and bad guys know that you need to be in the LA vicinity to get anything done.

Remember, we're in the 24 Time Zone. Cheng Zhi (the bastard from Chinese intel) only handed over Jack to CTU 131/2 hours ago or thereabouts. Methinks Cheng stayed in L.A. for what was officially described "a consultation at the Chinese Consulate," where you may remember he was director of security during Jack's incursion during season 4.

Interesting question: Was Audrey on another part of the same Chinese plane that brought Jack to L.A. this morning?

Maybe.
Unless Audrey was in L.A. the whole time and CTU turned her over to the Chinese that morning and showed Jack a phony file of doctored photos to make him think she was dead.

Coming up with a plot like that seems like an awful lot of work for CTU considering Jack was supposedly brought over only to be executed in the first hour of the season.
