When the sun rises the day after Easter, some parts of the country will see the ass kicking they received while other parts are about to receive one.

Warm water in the gulf this year. Too warm.

It's apparently on its way through my burg right about now ... reports of 60 mph winds about 45 miles west of town a few minutes ago. Buckle up.

We will not have tornadoes here in Mass. but there is a high wind warning for this afternoon, and widespread power outages are predicted. Good luck to everyone who hasn't had this front rip through yet.

80 degrees here Saturday. Sat in back yard and drank all day. Got a nice tan.
Never got to 40 yesterday, with a mix of rain, sleet and just general krap, all the while had gusts up to 60.
Mother Nature is going to get a slap to the jaw from Ye Olde Chef someday.

It was 73 here on Friday, 70 on Saturday. Sunday, it was 34 (at 12:01 a.m.) with a couple of inches of snow on the ground in the city, but officially only 0.1 of an inch. First Easter snow since 2007.

It was the coldest Easter in the city since 1937 and seventh-coldest Easter on record (going back to 1870s). Third coldest Easter in April.

This morning, it got down to 16 degrees, a record low for Denver breaking 17 degrees in 1933. Only expected to get to 27 today, which would be the lowest high temperature for the date. And it's snowing again.

Snow this time of year is not out of the norm. These bitter cold temperatures are way out of the norm. The snow I don't mind. I hate the bitter cold.

We got hit pretty hard by powerful thunderstorms. 60 mph straight line winds. Lots of trees and branches, power lines down.

Local weatherman James Spann, who is the gold standard weather guy here (He called the '93 blizzard in Alabama almost two weeks before it happened. "Blizzard? In B'ham? <bellylaugh>" We got 18" of thundersnow overnight). He's kinda fun to watch as he's been here forever, and he knows all the outlying counties, towns, schools. When he's working one of these, first the coat comes off, then the sleeves get rolled up, then the tie gets loosened. He's great at calling out areas where the polygons say high risk of tornadoes by name, saying that it's "Just north of Pinson, where Pinson Main Street hits 75 highway" and the like.

Last night he was using Wesley's Boobie Trap as the landmark. Wesley's is the town's lowest rent strip club, where the dancers go once their looks are going and gravity and meth have taken their toll on their bodies, so much hilarity ensued.
