DMB and Pat Benatar went 1-2 in the fan vote. HOF tells fans to pound sand.

But, hey, everyone come to our museum and pay a $28 cover charge to get into a Hard Rock Cafe that has no food.

Still no Warren Zevon, still a fraudulent institution, which it has been since Day One.

Maybe this will all get fixed when Jann Wenner finally fucking dies.

Hopefully, they can retroactively remove Kiss.

The RRHOF has no respect for metal.

Wow. They made a big deal out of that fan vote too.

Though I have to admit, if Dave Matthews Band were presented to me as a museum higher-up as the No. 1 fan choice? I’d be like, “uh, museum is closed.”

    “Why”

“We have, er, an alligator infestation. Terrible. Museum is closed forever.”

“A non-native species infestation confined entirely within this single building?”

“Yessir. It’s awful. They snorted all of Jenn Wenner’s coke. They’re out of control.”

Fuck DMB. Pat Benatar, however, should be in if fucking Depeche Mode are.

There’s so many stupid inconsistencies in the RRHOF.

I love Joan Jett. I would listen to Joan Jett over Pat Benatar anyday.

But I don’t think either of them are particularly influential beyond being women who rocked. Joan Jett probably had more copycats later, but it’s not as if there’s a thousand bands launched by Joan Jett & The Blackhearts.

What about hits? And keep in mind? Hits alone have been enough to get plenty of bands/artists in, especially from the 60s and 70s.

Benatar had far more of them. And if I’m being fair, had more variety in her sound with her hits. Give me a crunching guitar anthem anyday, but if I’m being brutally fair? Joan Jett is AC/DC when it comes to diversifying her sound. Part of her charm? Yes, but still a demerit when being compared to other artists.

So both were pioneering women who rocked who were contemporaries of one another. One has slightly more influence, one had far more hits. One had the rep of never compromising her sound. One tailored her sound to the MTV generation, which sounds like a rip, but isn’t. MTV pop shouldn’t get any less respect than, say, sunshine pop from the 60s, which got the Mamas And The Papas in.

If one is in? They should both be in. But they’re not. It’s so dumb.

    Still no Moody Blues.
The Rock and Roll Hall wasn't even founded by musicians.
It was created by record-company parasites and editors from Rolling Stone mag.
