2020 galloping Belmont Stakes thread

    Forgot it was today until I saw it in the paper. Ladies and gentlemen, start your horses!

    No fans allowed. Not even the horse's owners are permitted to attend. The NYRA inexplicably shortened the distance to a mile and an eighth. After today, the horses have two and a half months to get ready for the second leg of the grueling Triple Crown.

    The explanation I heard was with the shutdown preventing many of the horses from getting ready to run longer distances, they opted to slightly shorten the race.
