    That is insane.
In light of the weather in many locales, however, I don’t know if there will be many games for them to ignore.

Michigan was horribly underseeded. So typical of a Big Ten team.

East Carolina is going out with a whimper.

And the fans will provide lots of whine. Always.

It's not just USA Today, it's almost any national media outlet. The Associated Press did a little bit better this year, with a weekly college baseball roundup on Mondays and briefs from a lot of the major conference tournaments, but still has traditionally had little to no coverage for most of the season. They jump on board when the regionals start.
It's a niche sport, but when you're in the niche it's incredibly frustrating.

Auburn is going to win Game 1 in Chapel Hill and two days of rain will ensue. Could be an interesting test of the NCAA's extreme weather policy.

Just saw that Duke score from last night. 18-5 at Vandy? Wow.

Completely dumb here, but what's the extreme weather policy?

Carolina got bailed out in 2013, I think, when it's Super was rain-delayed and they flip-flopped the teams for the first two days of the CWS. So the four teams that had set their pitching rotations believing they would play on Day 2 instead got moved up a day, and vice-versa. Carolina was supposed to play on Day 1, got moved to Day 2.

By my way of thinking, tough luck if your Super has weather problems. Seven teams shouldn't have their plans altered to accommodate one.

Doing some reading, they've basically got to have all of the games played by the end of Tuesday. If they don't then the winner is whoever won Game 1, or the higher seed if no games were played or the series is tied 1-1. They also have an option to move the games if it looks like it'll be impossible to play.
I wouldn't envy the umpire or NCAA official responsible for that decision while sitting there at 11 p.m. Tuesday night, seeing nothing but green on the radar and a steady rain in front of them, with the series tied 1-1.
