Fun stuff.

 

Glad Rutschman got a Corvallis send-off - but that team was leaking oil most of the year and really did overachieve.

 

Fresno State beats Stanford 7-2 to take control in Palo Alto. Cardinal plays Sac State at noon PDT in elimination game, with winner playing Fresno at 6.

 

Not to forget Fresno State's biggest moment. (Tweet from a Fresno homer talk show host. I am not responsible, but it's the only clean video I could find).

 

And the West Coast weirdness continues. Loyola Marymount defeats UCLA in late winners bracket game in Westwood. Bruins have loser-leave-town game with Baylor Sunday at noon.

 

Cincinnati also won the American, taking another spot.

 

UCLA, Stanford cruising in elimination games.

 

Florida State looked damn good this weekend. One more win and Martin has 40 for something like the 41st consecutive season.

 

40th year. Won 40 the previous 39. 17th Supers berth, extending the record.

 

Also:

 

My daughter is at FSU now. Never cared one way or another about the Seminoles until now, but since I’m paying for her education I’ve become a huge Florida State fan.

 

It won't last, of course, but I think it's pretty funny that three ACC teams -- including Duke -- are into the super regionals before any SEC team.
