I wouldn't be unhappy if this fell through. I defended the trade because I don't think they'll be able to sign Betts at a reasonable price, but selfishly I'd like to see him continue in a Sox uniform. I don't think that's gonna happen, though; they'll find a way to make it work. Too many bruised egos involved to go back.

Doubt the Angels made it contingent on the Betts trade.

I vaguely remember that episode, but looking back at it am struck by the fact that teenaged me didn't think anything was unusual about 44-year-old Hank Aaron playing 20-something Hank Aaron and 5'6" 34-year-old Henry Winkler playing a 20ish Italian tough guy. Of course that was about the time that 30-year-old Olivia Newton-John played a high schooler in Grease.

After they went to the live studio audience - it's amazing how little effort they put into the show's conceit that it was taking place in the '50s. Mr. C with progressive sunglasses, Chachi's hairstyle, etc.

Think of all the 70's haircuts in 1951 Army for MASH.

The weird thing about MASH, it was a show (and movie really) that took place in Korea but was really about Vietnam.
