Hire someone already on staff at $2m a year for two years with a three-year $12m option to be either picked up or not at the end of next year. If you strike gold, you're good, if not you don't lose much.

Well, as a senior Moore completed 61 percent of his passes for 3022 yards with an 18-7 TD-int ratio, 13 yards per completion, a 139 passer rating and five rushing TDs. He had one other skill player who ever played a down in the NFL, so it wasn't like his team had USC-level talent. He had 10 wins, beat No. 3 USC, won the Civil War, bat Washington and won a bowl over a P5 opponent. That's a very solid season.

Perhaps OK was a little harsh, but there's just such boosting up of a guy who was just kinda good.

-61 percent of his passes, fourth in the Pac-10 behind John David Booty, not good Dennis Dixon and Alex Brink
-3022 yards, second to Booty, though he was one ahead of Nate Longshore in one more game
-18-7 TD-int ratio. This number is fine, but nothing to write home about.
-139 passer rating, behind Longshore and Booty.
-Five rushing TDs, this is a nice stat, but mostly just says he took sneaks on the goal line. He averaged -0.1 yards per carry

-"He had one other skill player who ever played a down in the NFL, so it wasn't like his team had USC-level talent." Sure, but he did have the No. 3 rusher in school history and No. 5 receiver, both of whom had other All-Conference seasons.

-He had 10 wins, this is nice, but it's not like Olson didn't do that.

-Beat No. 3 USC. That's pretty good, and it's a distinction he shares with Patrick Cowan and UCLA that season

-Won the Civil War, bat Washington. Those teams combined to go a game under .500. He also somehow lost to UCLA, which was bad.

As you said, very solid. But the original lament was that they just didn't bench Olson for him. And if we look at Olson's last season, he posted the second best passer rating in UCLA history. He won 10 games, put up a 34-6 TD to INT ratio, led an offense that put up 30 points a game and was 8th in Heisman voting. Olson's senior year is ahead of Moore's in most every way passing-wise. Maybe Moore does all that if he gets the job, but one of them was gonna transfer, and the one that didn't ended up with the more productive college career.

And to be clear, Dorrell is still a bad coach.

If I'm a Colorado donor, I'm stopping payment on all checks and canceling season tickets.

Ok, so you were cool with 1-2 winning seasons in the past 15 years but THIS is what drove you over the top?

    I love college sports.

The team is good: You must give money to see the good team
The team is bad: The only way to get good is if you give us money.
