    Best teams — France, Belgium and then Brazil. And the gap from 1 to 2 is wide. .

    Two questionable calls from the ref (the first one far more so) swung the tenor of that game. France countered nicely for the other two goals once Croatia had to chase. The game was always off-kilter after the Griezmann dive was rewarded by a free kick for the first. Odd how VAR doesn't penalize that crap.

    This said, France had more talent throughout the team and it showed. They were able to win despite not being at their best through a few indidvidual moments (and somewhat odd goalkeeping from Croatia).
