Agree with this. Its one thing if they signal they're going to do a Browns-style rebuild, where they tear things down to the studs and rebuild. But if you're competing, you should probably just keep Mack and pay him, even though it is a hell of a trade. Gruden is probably envisioning himself as a Belichick style trader, getting some great assets and moving on from a player before he gets expensive. But even he traded Seymour when he was 30, and Logan Makins when he was 32.

Belichick got rid of players when they had 1 good year left, not 4or 5

Not sure if it goes here or Week 1, but Bell's agent is hinting he may not join the Steelers until Week 10. He also somehow insists this will be Bell's best statistical year of his career.

Those'll be seven great games to watch if he's right.

Is that what we're calling the last 19 years now?

Ha, I guess the most recent rebuild, before Dorsey came on with the team. I didn't think their approach was wrong, but the approach doesn't matter if your talent evaluation is way off.

Fun fact: since 2002, the browns and the raiders have had one winning season each and neither have won a playoff game. The raiders have had 10 coaches while the browns have had eight. Of course, the browns have lost a lot more games in that time frame.

They are looking at keeping him at under 300 touches this year no matter how much Tomlin rides him.
