Winston is hardly the main issue with the Bucs. Given the offensive line is shit, the running game sucks and the defense couldn't stop a powder puff team he probably over performed. He was never going to go anywhere with Koetter though, who wanted to do the Air Coryell thing with a quarterback that didn't need to take all those risky throws.

    Bingo.
Sad state of affairs when management is content with 7-9, 8-8 and/or playoffs every third year.

I would argue that Fitz-Magic is a better long term QB than Winston with the right tools around him.

No. He's not. People have been trying to put the right tools around Fitzpatrick for 13 years. It doesn't work because he's a serviceable NFL backup. After his two game honeymoon this year he was the same QB he's always been.

History will show that Lewis will be the most successful coach that Mike Brown ever hired, by a wide margin.

The Jets might be a good situation if the GM actually tries not to give the next guy the shittiest roster possible.

Then you are saying that neither is a solution. Fitzpatrick is 36 and was erratic when he was 26. He is not going to be an effective quarterback in two years.

    Why? His defense was awful.

They should just stop playing and make Miko Grimes the GM. She knows best, anyway.

It just feels lazy, like someone who doesn't really want to put the work into vetting real candidates, just, "Hey, that guy on TV sure sounds like he knows what he's talking about. He says things so confidently. I'll hire him."
Come to think of it, that sounds a lot like someone else we know. Who could it be? Who could it be?

I've had a soft spot for Fitz since I covered him at Harvard (did you guys know he went there? Is it mentioned much on TV?).. He's had a fine career as what he is, a backup capable of games of brilliance. But he's done/
