They had the misfortune of being sandwiched in between not two, but three of the NBA's great dynasties (80s Lakers, 80s Celtics and 90s Bulls). Their window to win coincided with -- maybe even took advantage of -- the decline of the first two and was just before the rise of the third. Hardly their fault, but certainly understandable why they're overlooked in the discussion.
They're like the Larry Holmes of the NBA. An all-time great that never quite gets its due because of the era in which they peaked.
The 94-95 Rockets are in that same category. A repeat champion that never gets full credit because they never had to beat the best team of their era in the Finals.

Worth remembering that it was the Shaq-Penny Magic that was gonna be the next great team until the Rockets swept them in the Finals.

Not giving a T to Curry displayed a higher level of restraint than I would have had

So I’m sitting on the beach in Key West on the south side of the Island watching ships fall off the end of the earth thinking why doesn’t anyone listen to Kyrie Irving? Oh yeah, because he’s a dumbass ignorant asshole. #dukecheats

The Bad Boys Pistons also get dogged because they were mostly responsible for setting the example for the decade-plus of sludge the NBA essentially became from 1990-2015 as everyone else tried to copy their formula.

People didn't try to copy the Showtime Lakers or the double dynasty Bulls because nobody else had a Magic Johnson or Michael Jordan.

Nets are a really fun story this year. Great to see them make the playoffs.

Hype overload on tonight's "last game at Oracle" for the Warriors. Last REGULAR SEASON game ... or did the Ice Capades suddenly get booked and they have to play the playoffs at the Cow Palace?

NBC Sports Bay Area were wrecking themselves to hype these special jerseys and how they will be a surprise. Surprise got ruined when one of the Warriors went walking by in a warmup shirt that said "We Believe." So much for that.

You could’ve written that 73 pages ago.

They are healthy. Cousins has fit right in just fine. They won’t lose four more games this season
