2017 college football coaching carousel thread

Houston is getting slammed in some quarters (looking at you, Chronicle) for hiring Art's kid and another former Baylor coach as assistants.

 

Why? Kendal Briles was at FAU last year. They're both G5 schools.

Again, he was hired at FAU eight months after that story came out.

Kendal Briles is not Art Briles, as much as people want to paint them with the same brush.

But if the social media mob wants to Schiano his ass, I guess that's their prerogative.

Give Kendal Briles a chance.

 

Arizona job has been posted. It's not mentioned, but I think this includes working some nights and weekends.

Not sure how his experiences learned off the field would have helped him in a session about game management or whatever the topic was.
Pretty lame last zinger of a line from the embittered coach whose plans to prop up an enabler of sexual assault were foiled by common sense. Yeah. Real shame that Art Briles, self-professed Christian leader, won't be able to take to the pulpit of football.
Funny how people are advocating for people like Art Briles and Hugh Freeze but don't seem to be as interesting in advocating for the black assistant or coordinator who has never gotten a chance at a decent top job.

 

As well they should be.

 

I would be interested in seeing what the speaking line-up and topics are at that AFCA deal. Always figured the meet-up was just an excuse to pick-up tickets and then scalp them, network for jobs deal with street agents on neutral ground.
