Hope you're right. But, I think it behooves the Democrats to not be complacent, because nothing about this election season has been predictable, except for Clinton winning the Democratic nomination, and even that wasn't the coronation everyone expected.

It was a coronation. She had a distinct advantage the whole way and wrapped it up for practical purposes in March. Sanders' weird Black Knight impression didn't change that.

I get that the vote-splitting handing it to Trump was weird, but one unexpected incidence of a known phenomenon does not mean we live in some crazy world of cats chasing dogs.

People who follow the race closely, like me, knew Hillary had locked it up after she virtually swept the South on Super Tuesday on March 1. She could've split the rest of the states with Bernie, and Bernie would never catch up because of proportional awarding and Hillary's lock on superdelegates.

But you hardly ever heard about it until well into May. The left media was either pining for a horse race or in the tank for Bernie. The right was trumpeting how Hillary couldn't put Bernie away, when in actuality, she had.

The only way I wouldn't vote for Hillary is if she picked YOU as her running mate. Way to go dude, you could have cost her the election but you're not even trying.

I'm still hoping HRC will select Thomas Perez as her running mate, but most of the informed media speculation seems to be going to Tim Kaine and Tom Vilsack. Both would be solid, safe choices who would appeal to middle America. Elizabeth Warren was never really a serious consideration, nor was Cory Booker. There was a lot of early buzz about Julian Castro, but he seems to have disappeared from the radar screen in recent weeks.

Two names emerge from Clinton’s VP deliberations: Kaine and Vilsack

Castro shot himself in the foot campaigning for Hillary on company time. Don't know how viable he was anyway. Electorally, his ceiling is limited because he'll never be elected in a statewide vote in Texas.

    1. He's been a surprisingly businesslike and effective senator. After squeaking by in his first election, he was reelected in a virtual landslide.

    2. Minnesota has a Dem governor so the seat would be safe.

    3. Unleashed from PC concerns over his celebrity-pol status, Franken could go apeshit ripping Trump on the campaign trail, probably rivaling Warren in volume and firepower. He can just cull his best lines from ...

Starman, never going to happen. There's only room for one television celebrity in this race, and Trump's got that spot locked up.

LOL. What's Dumpf going to do, attack Franken for being "unserious?"

Yes, that's what would happen. Trump's the classic bully type, picking at someone's weakest feature and getting others to join in.

Al Franken could serve well as an attack dog against Trump. That would be a riot.

Dumpf would rue the day. Franken would kick his ass.
