    Jason Cole says 49ers wanted Shanahan, he didn't want Kaepernick and wouldn't budge, they went with Kelly.



    If true, that would be a pretty fucked-up decision for a team that benched Kaepernick (rightfully so) and then set about to whisper-torch his work ethic and intelligence for the entire rest of the season (shamefully so).
