Somebody mentioned the Red Sox -- that's going to make a lot of sense next off-season when they have no Papi, and possibly/probably no Sandoval or Ramirez because they're damn sick of those guys too and eat the contracts.

Jays ownership does not spend like the big market team they are.

Report: Bautista wants 5 years, $30 million per...he ain't gonna get that here. And JC is right, if Rogers really wanted to go all in financially they could be right there with the big-market teams but there is no chance of that happening.

Sources: Bautista's demand is five years, $150M

If Shapiro is truly in charge, this will never happen.

Maybe the only thing Sandoval hasn't eaten of late.

And yet, cespedes couldn't get a 4th year, which really shocked me. Alderson should get an award just for that negotiation.

Perhaps not, but they were 10th in MLB in payroll in 2015. They seem to be more willing to spend of late, but TSP has a point. They already have a lot of money tied up in players 30 or older. Adding Bautista to that list may not make sense.

Biggest ongoing story of the spring is Yoenis Cespedes' daily choice of vehicle.

    TUESDAY: Polaris Slingshot

So he'll have a nice ride to where he's traded at the non-waiver deadline.

The best part is that his outfits match the vehicle colors.
