I will add a third thing they do well in College Station I should've mentioned. They can grow the fuck out of grass. Kyle Field is better than any artificial surface I've ever stepped on.

Prediction: Quarterbacks will not be three of the first five players selected.

It doesn't take much to be smarter than Johnny Manziel.

The Flacco watch is stiff and awkward and too expensive but it gets the job done. The Stafford watch keeps great time 90 percent of the time, but it totally shuts off at the worst moments, leaving you completely screwed. The Brady watch was once underrated, then it became a classic, then it started to show some rust, and now it's what you wear if you want to scream at the help or do bizarre shit like pose with a baby goat.

I always thought Lance Broadway, who went to high school around here, had the greatest quarterback name ever. Alas, he wasn't much of a QB and played mostly safety, as I recall. The same high school also produced another terrific QB name -- Rhett Bomar.

But as Shakespeare wrote, what's in a name?

Do you guys actually see Manziel succeeding in the NFL?

For about as long as Vince Young did.

Yes - but not immediately. I think he's got a fairly steep learning curve ahead of him. But on a team like, say, the Browns, that has a couple weapons in Cameron and Gordon, yeah, I think he'd be successful.

    Isn't it spelled with 2 "z's" ?

JFF reminds me a lot of Fran Tarkenton, who didn't win a Super Bowl but was pretty successful. Like any other QB in the draft, he could bust sky-high or be great. It's a crapshoot. I personally think top-five is too high, but who knows what everyone's board will look like.

If by "pretty successful," you mean he held the NFL records for passing yardage, completions, attempts and touchdowns for about 20 years, then yes, Tarkenton was "pretty successful."
