2013: The NHL season that almost wasn't

    From what I have read, there is no solid deal yet to even build a new arena. So what happens if you move the team, plan to play in KeyArena (or Everett, 30 miles north) for two years and "try to work something out"? What if the public and politicians, who didn't do much on the Sonics' front until it was too little, too late, decide not to fund a new arena? Then you've got a new team in town playing in a lame duck arena with nowhere to turn.

    Not so great. I would argue no move until we see shovels in the ground for a new permanent arena.

    After all, Kansas City, Houston and other places already have arenas ready to go tomorrow.
