Mizzougrad96: Coming off a stellar voting season where the team he picked as the preseason No. 1 wound up with a stellar 7-6 record after losing to a team with a losing record in the Hyundai Sun Bowl...

I voted Bama No. 1, and I think Alabama is much better than Ohio State, but if you look at the schedules of both teams, I think Ohio State has a better chance to finish undefeated than Alabama does. That said, if the two teams meet in the title game, I would expect the Buckeyes to get crushed.

Buckeyes will score a lot of points every week.

They might give up a few in the opening weeks as the D-line finds its footing but the LBs and secondary will more than make up for the line's inexperience. Is there really a difference winning 55-17 or 52-21 compared to 52-7? They have 5 weeks to get the line into Big 10 shape.

I also like the chip-on-the-shoulder factor: 12-0 with no bowl game in '12. Something to prove, and they will, so long as the offense stays healthy.

So you think Ohio State is a better team than Alabama?

They're both elite this season. I'm starting off with Ohio State, Alabama.

Ohio State has to break in a d-line. Bama has to break in a new o-line, including Barrett Jones -- I think Jones is a much bigger loss than anything the Buckeyes lost on defense.

But the difference between them is so small it doesn't matter if I said tOSU/Bama or Bama/tOSU. Let's see where each team is after 4 weeks.

Wait, we're allowed to not put Alabama at No. 1? Since when!?!

I have a dilemma who to put at No. 1.

Should it be Eastern Michigan, Old Dominion or Georgia State?

Della9250: Went to a college that eliminated football after his sophomore year. Has angered at least three people for his early-season voting every year since the poll began.
