A quick search of Baseball Reference would indicate it's the first walk-off no-hitter since 1997, when the Pirates' Francisco Cordova and Ricardo Rincon pitched a combined no-hitter.

Another fine day for C.B. Bucknor. His badly blown call gives the Brewers two runs for a 2-1 lead, but he makes up for it in the bottom of the eighth. With Brewers second baseman Scooter Gennett running to cover first on a bunt play, Bucknor runs right into him and the throw sails down the right-field line. Runner from first scores and batter reaches second and eventually scores the go-ahead run.

That and his blown call in the Marlins-Phillies game the other night makes you wonder if there's a Donaghy situation going on. Would be mighty easy to screw up a few calls and influence the outcome of an absolutely meaningless game, and have it completely fly under the radar.

Tampa goes up 6-0 in the first then hangs on to win 7-6. Toronto had the tying run on first with no outs in the ninth.

Cleveland is guaranteed a spot in the WC game if they hold on to their 5-1 lead against Minnesota.

Texas is up 2-1 in the 6th against the Angels.

If Texas blows it, they are out.

If Texas wins and Cleveland wins, we get a Texas/Tampa tiebreaker game for a spot in the one-game play-in, which is pretty cool.

If Cleveland somehow blows it and Texas wins, we get the three-way tie.

Angels tie Rangers in top of sixth, but Rangers string three two-out hits in bottom of sixth to take 3-2 lead.

Three outs from a Monday tiebreaker game in St. Petersburg.

So the AP story says Alvarez "had been due to hit next." But with bases loaded and two outs in a tie game, he could not have hit in that inning. Just seems an odd statement to make.

I'd say Francona. He has done a fantastic job. Cleveland has been a real surprise.
